Creating Costumes for Starlight Cabaret

On October 15th 2011 a new cabaret show will be opened in the historic Viru Hotel. Some of the performers' costumes for the evening will be designed by Madis Nurms.

Until the Great Singing revolution in Estonia there were four official variety music halls, mostly located in the biggest hotels of that era. Viru variety, located in the Viru Hotel was by far the most known. The crash of the soviet regime marked the ending of popularity of variety-culture in Estonia.

Now variety is having it's second coming in Estonia and the glamorous shows take place in the Merineitsi restaurant. The new show, staged by Kristjan Kurm takes the audience through the 40 years of history of Viru Hotel.
